Naples at the heart of the international sailing scene
For the first time in its century-long history, the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup is coming to Italy, choosing Naples as the Host City for one of the world's most prestigious and technologically advanced international sporting competitions.
Supported by the Italian Government, Emirates Team New Zealand and leading international partners, this edition aims to combine sporting excellence, technological innovation and global visibility, bringing the iconic trophy to the heart of the Mediterranean. The regattas will take place against the backdrop of Castel dell'Ovo, while Bagnoli will host the teams' operational bases, becoming a symbol of urban regeneration and a strategic centre for team preparation.
In 2027, Campania will become an international showcase for sport, tourism and the blue economy, with regattas held in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius and a racecourse directly visible from the seafront. Neapolitan waters will host the most important stages of the competition: the Preliminary Regattas, the Louis Vuitton Cup, the Challenger Selection Series, and the final Match.
The main regattas are scheduled to begin on 10 July 2027.
The event will represent an international appointment that will highlight the skills of the local area, the quality of its infrastructure and a maritime tradition that is both a historic and cultural asset for Campania.
In addition to the AC75s, the iconic foiling yachts among the fastest in the world, the event will also include the Youth America's Cup and the Women's America's Cup, strengthening its commitment to inclusiveness and the development of sporting talent.
The awarding of the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup to Naples places Campania within the leading international circuits of sport and innovation.
